Brendon is a newcomer to the sport of Track and Field (2nd year running) and has performed exceptionally well since transferring to DeMatha in the Spring of 2017 and has set new personal records in his events virtually every time he stepped on the track. His most significant victories to date include the 2018 Virginia Showcase 55m dash Champion (6.35 seconds), 2018 Virginia Showcase Invitational 300m dash Champion (33.86 seconds), 2018 Millrose Games 55m dash Champion (6.34 seconds), and the 2018 Marshall University High School Invitational 60m dash Champion (6.66 seconds). Brendon’s 6.66 second PR in the 60m dash represented the U.S. #2 time among all U.S. high school athletes and his 33.86 second PR in 300m dash was the U.S. #7 mark and second fastest time ever recorded by a Maryland high schooler. Both times also established new DeMatha school records. He wrapped up his stellar indoor season by earning All-American honors in both the 60m dash and 4x200m relay (new DeMatha school record and Maryland #2 all-time mark of 1:27.55 seconds). Brendon was a critical leg on the 4x100m relay team which was the only U.S. team to advance to the prestigious Championship of America final at the 2018 Penn Relays, running a Maryland top 5 All-time mark of 41.36 seconds.
Brendon also excels academically, maintaining a 4.01 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society. Brendon is looking forward to finishing his distinguished career at DeMatha Catholic High school this Spring. As a result of his accomplishments on and off the track, Brendon received a full athletic scholarship to the University of Southern California and will be coached by Olympic gold medalists Joanna Hayes and Quincy Watts. He is looking forward to competing at the next level and credits his coaches, teammates and family for his success.
